Third Soldier Convicted by Military Court

Pvt. David A. Samas of Modesto California, 20, found guilty of refusing to go to Vietnam. He received five years at hard labor, a dishonorable discharge, and forfeiture of pay and allowances. Two others convicted earlier received prison terms. court deliberated briefly. Lamas was charged with willfully disobeying an order to board a Saigon-bound aircraft from McGuire Base.

County Grand Jury Convenes Next Monday

Grundy County Circuit Court called the fall Grand Jury to assemble at 10 a.m. next Monday at the Grundy County Courthouse. Jerry A. Jones and William Nelson are slated for possible indictment on burglary charges. Both have prior burglary records and were on parole from Stateville Penitentiary at the time. They allegedly broke into Dr. John B. Roth's office on June 25, aiming to steal over $3,000 in uncashed checks. State's Attorney Richard R. Wilder presents the cases to the grand jury.

Medical Plan on Board's Agenda
