Five injured in two accidents near Bluff Road
Two crashes within a half hour on Interstate 55 near Bluff Rd left five people injured. Lyle Robbins 25 and Calvin Sullivan 16 of Lincoln were listed in good condition at St. Joseph Hospital Joliet after a semi rollover north of Bluff Rd at 6 35 AM. John Kiefling 22 of 1925 Roberts St and Melvin Fennwald 28 of 403 Buchanan St Wilmington were in good condition after a three vehicle crash on the I 55 northbound ramp at 7 AM. Bob Mixon 17 of Quitman Miss planned to see a doctor. A hospital spokesman said the four injured were receiving treatment.

State police report two accidents on I-55. a semi truck driven by Robbins overturned after losing control on wet pavement, Robbins and passenger Sullivan taken to St. Joseph Hospital. Robbins cited for failure to reduce speed. A second crash involved Willie Mixon and an unknown vehicle, pushing Mixon’s pickup into Kiefling’s truck. unknown vehicle fled the scene.
