Four injured in four car crash south of Morris
Four people were treated at Morris Hospital after a four car collision on Illinois 47 near Pine Bluff Road at 4 48 p m Friday. Victims included Lucille Reed 57 Lenore Hopeman 80 Elodia Ramirez 32 and Imelda Ramirez 14. A motorcyclist Kenneth Fessler was treated later for minor abrasions. A separate incident involved a youth backing into a pickup causing minor damage.

Yorkville Woman Ticketed After Two Accidents Friday Night
A 28 year old Yorkville woman, Cynthia A. Chisler, was injured and hospitalized after two crashes on Illinois 47 within 15 minutes. She was cited for four traffic violations by state police and two more by Morris police after the second collision.

Truck recovered but car stolen in Grundy County incident
A 1974 GMC truck and trailer stolen from Romines about 9 p.m. Monday were recovered on Nelson Road with no damage. A 1972 Buick at Emery Nelson’s Rte. 4 Nelson Rd. was reported stolen this morning after a break in.

Arrest man on petition to revoke probation
George Pavelich 21 of Bolingbrook posted 350 bond after arrest on an August warrant with a petition to revoke probation. He was jailed by Bolingbrook police and to appear in court September 12. Pavelich had been placed on one year probation after pleading guilty August 11 1976 to misdemeanor theft for taking 450 dollars from Cecil Robertson’s Dresden residence July 14. A petition filed August 10 cited failure to pay restitution 100 dollars, 52 dollars court costs and 40 dollars probation charges plus noncooperation with the probation department. The Morris Library Board meets at 7 30 p m Wednesday in the staff room with regular committee reports planned.

About 13 300 travelers from 48 states and foreign countries stopped at Interstate 80 rest areas between Morris and Minooka for free coffee and refreshments during a three day accident prevention project. Grundy County REACT and the 1 80 Control CB Club organized with Midwest and Aurora REACT Teams. Bill Lumry said the goal is safer travel and quicker police contact via two way radios.

Hanafi leader given 41 to 123 year sentence
Hanafi Muslim leader Hamaas Abdul Khaalis sentenced by Judge Nicholas Nunzio to 41 to 123 years in prison for masterminding a three-site siege that left a young reporter dead. Prosecutors had urged life without parole for Khaalis and 11 followers as part of a harsh deterrent.

Secretary of State Alan Dixon announced he will seek re election next year rather than challenge Gov. James R. Thompson. The move clears the way for Comptroller Michael Bakalis to seek the Democratic nomination to run against Thompson with Bakalis stating he will run if Dixon does not. Dixon has long served in all three branches of government and was a strong 1976 vote getter. Filing for the March primary is due in December.

Accident Kills Three in Fox Lake Head-on Collision
Police said a head-on crash on Illinois 12 near Fox Lake killed Caryn Neuhaus 23 Skokie Marc Simon 20 Wilmette and Kenneth Urban 22 Niles. Neuhaus cousin Lynne Neuhaus 23 Skokie was critically injured. the truck driver was unharmed. Urban drove the car which apparently crossed the center line.
