Banks manslaughter appeal moved for time extension
District Defender Bruce Stratton representing Marion Lee Banks filed a motion for extension to November 30 to file briefs and abstracts in the Illinois Third District Appellate Court. The Illinois Defender Project was appointed July 26 to represent Banks after a Sept. 21 record on appeal. Banks, 19, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in his infant daughter’s March death in Grundy County. The Verona village board also announced trick or treating Sunday from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Inquest Wednesday Planned in Agamy Death Case
Authorities announce an inquest on Thursday at 10 30 a m in Will County Court into the death of Elizabeth Agamy found behind her Wilmington clothing store. Pipe falls from passing truck near Morris injures none
At 4 50 a m Tuesday a piece of eight inch pipe fell from a westbound truck onto the hood of a parked car on U S 6 east of Morris near the Bimet plant. The truck driven by Louis J Sergent 62 of Marseilles caused the incident while Thomas Tsicourts 44 of Maywood owned the parked auto. Deputy Sheriff James Gretencord reported no injuries.
