Youth injured in hayride accident near Buffalo Road
John Vacca age 19 of 918 East Jefferson Street was reported in serious condition at Morris Hospital after a hayride mishap Saturday night on Buffalo Road Grundy County Deputy Sheriff Thomas Walker reported Vacca fell while trying to board a moving tractor pulling two hayracks. The tractor driven by Herbert Wyeth III of 1352 Liberty Street was carrying about 20 riders when Vacca slipped and was run over by the tractor’s left rear tire and the hayrack wheels. Vacca sustained a broken pelvis and ruptured bladder. He was transported to Morris Hospital by ambulance. The tractor and hayracks were owned by Sherwood Nelson of Norman Township.

Steven Giordano 21 of Coal City treated at Morris Hospital after a Braceville collision with Carl Jones 42 of Wilmington who was cited for failure to reduce speed. Both cars damaged. Stolen 1974 Ford Pickup Found Burned Near Godley
A 1974 Ford pickup stolen from Carol Stream on Sept 10 was found partially stripped and burned near Godley Saturday. The truck owned by Philip James of Elmhurst had rear wheels and radio removed before the blaze. Two men were seen fleeing. a search failed to locate them. The vehicle was towed to Glenn Wise garage in Gardner.

Swine Flu Vaccine Drive At Morris High School
A weekend total of 776 people received the swine flu shot at Morris Community High School. 539 on Saturday and 237 on Sunday. Vaccination continues today 2 to 6 p.m. at Morris with leftovers sent back to the state. The Coal City dose is limited to Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteers meeting at VFW Hall canceled.
