Morris Mayor rules out liquor licenses as council debates rise
At a Morris City Council meeting Mayor John Hendrickson declared no new retail liquor license will be issued. The council then voted 4-3 to draft an ordinance to increase package licenses from two to three, with Hornsby, Christensen, Stine, and Linn in favor and Gilbertson, Borens, and Anderson against. The mayor reiterated the stance that no license will be issued during his term.

Carroll McGuire, 21, is charged with theft of a city bus after police say he drove a CTA bus across Chicago’s South Side for about an hour giving passengers free rides. An officer found the bus with one rider aboard and McGuire claimed he had no transfers and told riders to wait for another bus.
