Endless search for identity in Grundy County murder case
The Grundy County Sheriff's Department spent about 400 man hours seeking the identity of a young black woman found shot to death Oct. 2. Despite sending fingerprints to state laboratories and the FBI, dental impressions, and extensive checks across Illinois and Indiana, no identification was made. The victim, found nude in a ditch near LaSalle County, is thought to be about 20 years old and was killed by a single .38 shot to the head. Authorities say she was killed there and moved to Grundy County. a burial plan is pending if unidentified. Detective Sgt. James Olson and Det. Lt. Ron Fox said leads have dried up, though a few may remain.

Dome Pipeline Corp plans a 2 600 mile gas line from Montana to Pennsylvania costing about 2 billion dollars with river crosses and multiple other river crossings in Illinois.
