Newark man in critical condition after police chase crash
Ronald Brown, 36, of Newark, was critically injured Monday night when his pickup crashed after a high speed chase with Plano police. He allegedly ignored stop signs and reached 100 to 120 mph before losing control near Millington, striking a culvert, a telephone pole, and trees, then being treated at Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora after initial care at Sandwich Hospital. Authorities plan charges of failure to stop, fleeing, and reckless driving.

A 26 year old Peotone woman, Beth Crusius, died after a car left the Wilmington Peotone Road one mile west of Illinois 57 in Will County. The 1967 Ford Mustang she drove overturned and was towed from the scene. She died at St Marys Hospital in Kankakee.

School tax suits settled in Grundy County
