Dwight Woman Dies in Head-On Illinois 17 Crash
A 53-year-old Dwight woman, Vera Spangler, was killed in a head-on collision on Illinois 17 east of Dwight at 5:40 p.m. She died at the scene. Mary Haas, 20, of Pekin, and passenger David Swafford, 32, of Pekin, were treated and released. Haas was ticketed for improper passing, illegal liquor transport, and lacking a driver’s license. Spangler’s funeral arrangements are announced by Van Qualen Funeral Home with services Sunday.
