A two car collision on Illinois 129 near Bookwalter Woods and Carbon Hill Road in thick fog claimed the life of 14 year old Lawrence William Rohr of Bookwalter Woods. Four students from Gard ner-South Wilmington High School were involved. Rohr died at the scene.

One Car Roll Over on I-55 In Joliet Injures Driver
A Racine man in good condition after a one car rollover on a bridge on Interstate 55 two miles north of Illinois 53. Driver John F Sweers 46 and passenger Herman Porcero 58 were treated at St. Joseph Hospital Joliet. The crash occurred at 8 30 a m after the car slid on icy pavement and rolled onto its median.
