Damage Reported In Two Fires At Morris Station
An open trailer and its contents including a stereo and sewing machine were destroyed by a fire of undetermined origin at Klinkers Gulf Station on Division Street. Owners from Texas were traveling through Morris when the blaze began. Morris volunteers fought it at 11:30 a.m. The second blaze damaged wiring and a 1965 Chevrolet owned by Otha Kine at 707 Wauponsee Street, with fire crews responding at 11:50 a.m.

CHICAGO AP An honorable discharge ended a court battle between the Army and reservist David F. Mulvain 29 of Durant. He told Judge Hubert L. Will he had received the discharge after the Army ordered him to active duty last July just before his six year hitch in the 846th Reserve General Supply Co. of Rockford. The Army corrected the error acknowledging a general discharge is not the same as honorable and had rectified the record.
