Minooka Fire Chief Testifies In Land Case
Minooka Fire Chief Robert Blair testified in circuit court over transferring land from Lisbon Seward to Minooka Fire Protection District. He said Minooka volunteers have operated 16 years, with 23 calls in the disputed area last year and about 22 to 23 calls annually. The transfer must not injure Lisbon Seward and should benefit the receiving district.

Carbon Hill Man Fined On Charge
Walter Lee Leggons of Carbon Hill appeared in Magistrate Chester P Winsor's court to answer disorderly conduct and aggravated battery charges. He pleaded guilty to aggravated battery and was fined 25 dollars plus 10 court costs and 11.80 sheriff costs. the disorderly conduct case was continued to June 19. Deputies Hexdall and Hammond responded to a report of speeding near the Smith home and Leggons was later found with a baseball bat allegedly threatening a deputy.
