Mrs. Mary Hover 38 of Kenosha Wisconsin is in serious condition at St. Joseph Hospital Joliet after a two car crash on Interstate 55 at the Mazon River bridge in Grundy County at 145 AM. George Hover 49 Kenosha and Robert Plageman 24 Hinsdale were driving the other car. Plageman said he fell asleep and was cited for failure to reduce speed.

Three Injured In Gardner Road Collision
Three people were injured when a 1969 Chevrolet station wagon driven by George Meir slowed for a stop sign then pulled into the path of a 1963 Buick driven by Lydia Kirkendall on the Gardner blacktop road near Illinois 47. Kirkendall’s car rolled into a ditch and three occupants were hospitalized.

Wallace N. Pierce was approved Thursday night as special education director for the Kendall Grundy county district with an annual salary of 15000. He begins July 1 and salary costs are shared by Kendall and Grundy counties. Morris Woman Honored as Goodwill Worker of 1969
Dorothy Ann Cepiel, a 44 year old Morris resident, was named Chicago Goodwill Worker of 1969 at a Goodwill Industries assembly in Chicago. Surviving a 1944 stroke that left her speech impaired and right side paralyzed, she rebuilt her life through vocational rehabilitation and Goodwill training, advancing to clerical work and supervising trainee assistants.
