Nixon Requests Lottery for Draft 1 Farm Youth Exchangees
Two International Farm Youth Exchangees will visit Grundy County this May as part of a national program. Azad Sarhadian from Rezaiyeh Iran arrives at the John Fillman home near Mazon Thursday and stays until June 1. He will study rural youth leadership and agricultural methods while living on a 400 acre Fillman farm southeast of Mazon.

The Illinois Senate approved a package of remap options for county boards to meet one man one vote rules with July 1 1971 deadlines and fallback commissions, plus a weighted voting plan and strict lobbyist reporting penalties. Five Kankakee school teachers were fined $500 each and sentenced to 60 days in jail for ignoring a back-to-work court order.
