Reed-Custer students build house as field project

Minooka Board approves summer pay and student matters
Minooka High School Board approved paying Kenneth Maas, a math teacher, June salary for summer months while he serves in the U S Army. Four married students were allowed to continue education with participation limited to baccalaureate and graduation activities. The board renewed membership in the Illinois High School Association and approved a May 14 slumber party in the gym for the G A A. A summer driver education program was approved if sufficient interest exists for 21 and under district residents. The 1971 72 Vocational Education Program was approved including adult classes. The senior class trip to Chicago was approved for May 21 with visits to O Hare, Hancock, Prudential, Lincoln Park Zoo, and the Museum of Science and Industry. A $500 final payment for band uniforms was received, shared with the school board at $3,000 each. Supt. Rex Siron was tasked with a tentative budget, and the calendar and grading period discussion was tabled until next week’s Minooka Grade School Board meeting.
