Retired St. Bede Abbot Dies Today
The Rt. Rev. Lawrence Vohs, 68, retired abbot of St. Bede Benedictine Community at Peru, died today in St. Marys Hospital La Salle. Appointed abbot in April 1942, he led the monastery until his retirement 16 months ago and earlier taught and served as prior at Spaulding Institute. Funeral services will be held Monday at St. Bede.
