A Gardner woman, Eunice Davies, 58, died at Morris Hospital after a two car collision on Gardner Rd two miles west of Illinois 47. David Baudino, 17, was ticketed for driving in the wrong lane. his brother Duane 15 escaped injury. Baudino’s account said a westbound semi forced his car off the road, leading to the crash. Davies, admitted with head injuries, died at 6:40 p.m. The incident was the county’s fourth traffic fatality this year. Funeral plans set at Mazon Methodist Church with burial in Goodfarm Cemetery.

Theft Case Charges Withdrawn in Grundy County
Two Morris residents Rita McGuire and William Rose were arrested for theft of property valued over 150 dollars. The complainant Williams Worthington withdrew charges after recovering the property. McGuire was briefly held in jail custody. Rose was released with no court action. Marion Lee Banks remains jailed awaiting murder trial.
