Four Injured in Illinois 47 Two Car Accidents
Four people, including three local girls, suffered minor injuries in two one car crashes on Illinois 47 near Illinois 113 about half an hour apart late Saturday. Deputies Donald Woodward and Fred Ehrman reported an unidentified vehicle caused both accidents. Marsha Helland 16 and Debbie Smith 15 were treated at Morris Hospital and released after their car overturned at 11 p.m. Debbie Pitts 15 was injured but not hospitalized. Craig O. Fitzsimmons 20 of Elgin also injured but not treated. Helland’s northbound Ford swerved to avoid the other car, spun, then left the pavement. Continued on page 7.

The bodies of Robert W. Schroeder and Marilyn Schroeder were found Sunday night in a walk in cooler at Bima's Tavern in Wedron Illinois. Coroner James Thompson said both were shot in the head and mutilated with a sharp instrument. Investigators consider robbery as a possible motive. Wedron is seven miles north of Ottawa.
