Hitler memorabilia fascinates postwar buyers in Germany and beyond
Adolf Hitler remains a powerful cultural figure as films, TV shows, and books revive interest. Collectors pay high prices for items tied to his era, from speeches and photos to personal notes, while fakes flourish and scholars ponder motives. Museums and tourists pursue birthplace sites, and fascination persists despite the harm of his regime.

Snow toll hits Chicago area trucking costs rising
Illinois trucking official Eugene McCarron of the Illinois Motor Truck Operators Association says Chicago area truck maintenance costs are at their highest in 40 years due to heavy snowfall. He cites a 15 percent rise in overall expenses from last year, with higher repair bills and wage increases adding to trucking costs that feed into consumer prices. Additional factors include the Regional Transportation Authority gas tax, workmen's compensation costs, and Teamsters Pension Fund payments. A spokesman for the Illinois Trucking Association notes costs are rising but doubts the 15 percent figure.

Space rocks enter moon laboratory
A UPI report says two carbonaceous chondrite meteorite fragments from Antarctica, found by a U.S. Japanese team led by Dr. William Cassidy, will be tested at Johnson Space Center to probe solar system origins and the possible start of life on Earth. Cassidy notes ages and Antarctic preservation may yield diverse, older samples than typical Earth finds. The team will search again next December and January, aiming to expand the meteorite supply.
