Morris youth dies in rollover on Lisbon Road
Mark R. Fisher 18 of Newark Route 1 was killed at 10 45 am when his car overturned four miles north of Morris on Lisbon Road. Coroner James Reeves said the vehicle crossed the road and struck a pole before ending in a ditch. Fisher was trapped beneath the car. He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co in Aurora and a coroner impaneled jury will set an inquest date later.

Lions Club to aid eye operation for Seneca resident
Marion Osborne of the Seneca Lions Club announced proceeds from a Lions Club dance in Seneca on August 3 will fund a rare eye operation for Norman Hausken, a diabetic who had lost his sight. Holiday Inn suspect arrested in Joliet
Jessie S. Lopez twenty three of 510 Third Ave Joliet was arrested at his home at 11 a.m. Thursday and held in Grundy County Jail on fifty thousand dollars bail. A warrant was issued by Grundy County Circuit Court Judge Robert Malmquist at the request of State's Attorney Richard Wilder. The Morris Holiday Inn on Interstate 80 and Illinois 47 was robbed by four male suspects who escaped with one hundred dollars after restraining a female desk clerk and a bellboy at gunpoint early Tuesday.
