Illinois lawmakers move on legalized home card betting bill
The Illinois Senate backed a bill to legalize betting on card games at private homes or non profit clubs with a House approval already in hand. The measure lacks a pot taking provision to exclude Las Vegas style casinos. Opponents warned of underage gambling and losses. The same session also advanced a ban on professional strikers, a large DOT budget debate, and several bills targeting massage parlors studded tires dog fighting and landlord security deposits.
