Convicted ex Nazi may stay in United States
A 55 year old Polish immigrant, Frank Wallis, who had his U S citizenship revoked for concealing Nazi war crimes, may remain in the United States. INS regional director David Vandersall said grounds for deportation are unclear since wartime crimes alone aren’t enough to deport under post 1952 law, and family ties complicate removal. Wallis has appealed denaturalization, and a judge blocked immediate surrender of naturalization papers until July 7.
