Knicks star Phil Jackson named Unsung Hero of 1973
New York Knicks forward Phil Jackson receives the Unsung Hero award with a plaque and a $500 check from a New York clothier. Jackson, a bench player who describes his play as 20 to 25 minutes of frenzied basketball, deflects the praise and cites teammates Dave DeBusschere and Bill Bradley as deserving and influential.
