Rezoning urged for 10 acres west of Illinois 47 Morris
The Morris Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend B II commercial zoning for about 10 acres of land west of Illinois 47 near the Eagle Shopping Center. They also endorsed a conditional permit for First National Bank of Morris to add drive up windows. Ownership lies with S. J. Holderman and William Spellisy. The plan splits zoning: 10 acres to B II and the remaining eight acres kept as RV. Some residents and a developer voiced concerns about rear land use and street extensions. The recommendation awaits City Council action, with possible further rezoning of the back portion.
