Unprofessional Conduct Probe Set for MCHS Board Meeting

Wilmington cyclist dies in crash on I-55 frontage road
James Hansen 19 of Wilmington died from head injuries after his 1973 Honda 350 left a sharp right turn on the west frontage road to I-55 near Illinois 129. His body was taken to Des Rocher's Funeral Home. An inquest will be held.

Nancy Falk 16 of Joliet was killed when a car driven by Lyle Clay left Plainfield Road in Oswego Township and plunged into a ditch. Debra Morello 17, James Parise 18, and Ruperto Rodriguez 22 were injured and treated at Copley Memorial Hospital. Clay was in fair condition.

Two Burned In Seneca Gas Tank Explosion
Two men were treated at Morris Hospital after a gas tank exploded near them Sunday at 5 10 p m on the Donald Kerns farm south of Seneca. Ed Wagner and Steve Shanks were treated and released with Wagner having burns and Shanks a possible shoulder fracture.

Weekend theft and vehicle damage reported in Grundy County
The Grundy County Sheriff's Department logged a weekend of incidents including a theft from a car on Depot Street in Gardner where four tapes valued at 32 dollars disappeared. A windshield was damaged in Gardner by a Buick striking wooden spools on a pickup. A third report noted a car crashing through a fence at the Coal City Area Club with two posts and a connecting cable knocked down. No damage estimate given.

Charge youth in girl's death in Plano case
Eighteen year old Martin R. Kermeen of 204 Sandy Lane Plano was charged in Kendall County Circuit Court with reckless homicide in the death of 16 year old Bettina Hall of 403 Church St Plano. Hall was struck by a car as she walked home with three companions after their stranded auto on July 5. The driver was named as Kermeen and three friends escaped by jumping into a ditch. Hall was carried more than 100 feet by the vehicle. Bond was set at 10000 dollars and Kermeen is slated to appear in court Tuesday.
