Youth Injured in Car-Truck Crash Near Northern Petrochemical
A 20 year old Morris man, Norman Decker, was listed in serious condition at St. Joseph Hospital Joliet after his auto struck the rear of a Foschi Brothers 1963 International truck on U S 6 near the Northern Petrochemical entrance. The truck driver, Corliss Van Meter, complained of back injuries but was not treated. Decker was hospitalized after transfer from Morris Hospital with possible head chest and facial injuries. The crash occurred as the truck slowed to turn left. tickets may be issued later. Decker works for AMAX. The wreckage involved extensive front end damage to the Chevrolet and rear damage to the truck.
