Tells Advantages of Forming A Township Library at Mazon
MAZON Special small communities that support libraries with tax dollars gain more from regional systems. Deputy state librarian de Lafayette Reid told 23 at a Mazon Township High School meeting that residents gain access to more books while saving on librarian salaries and building costs. He urged forming a township library to have a voice in the state library development program, noting rural refusals to district libraries and that both incorporated and unincorporated areas must pass. A book deposit station at Mazon with courier service to Morris was discussed, and a question about linking to a high school library was answered with mixed suitability. A campaign will outline tax costs and services for spring residents vote.
