Frank Bubbles Wesley, a longtime trombonist famed for hats and showmanship, died at 71. His stage hats and memories are shared by fellow musician Ed Chada, who houses them in Coal City. Wesley led bands from age 14, ran the Coliseum then rebuilt as a skating rink, and performed charity concerts for hospitals and nursing homes.

Police report burglary decline and crime shifts
Morris Police Chief Robert Lynes released a year end report showing a 35 percent drop in burglaries in 1975, with vandalism rising 9 percent. Burglary totals fell from 60 in 1974 to 39 in 1975 while vandalism rose to 326 from 298.

Gardner special: Three Loyola University dentistry graduates will staff a new dental clinic at Southeastern Grundy Medical Center Gardner. The staff includes Dr George R Morgan of New Lenox with 18 years private practice, Dr Dale E Carlstom of Joliet with 15 years, and Dr Lance W Crawford a recent graduate. The clinic opens soon with hours to be announced.
Three Krentkowski brothers jailed for Verona bar burglary
John Krentkowski 23 Carl Krentkowski 22 and William Krentkowski 21 of Oak Forest were sentenced in Grundy County Circuit Court to two to six years and three to nine years respectively after pleading guilty to the December 2 burglary of the Bar I III in Verona. Deputies halted the break in at 1 40 a m spotting Carl running from the building and discovering a broken window. Five men were later jailed on 50 000 bonds with Hawkins brothers involved. Buddy Hawkins received probation with six months in jail for testifying.

Burglary Charge Brought Against Two Morris Men
Grundy County Circuit Court scheduled bond today for Ronald Londo and William Crumb both charged with burglary and theft in the Tuesday night Jerry Priessnitz residence case. Detectives traced a shotgun from the burglary and other items were expected to be recovered.

Actor Ryan O'Neal to be arraigned on marijuana charges
Hollywood actor Ryan O'Neal faces arraignment on January 14 on charges of possessing five ounces of marijuana. Police said the drugs were found during a raid on his Beverly Glen home after he was arrested Wednesday night and released on a $500 bond.
