New Dresden Nuclear Station Superintendent Named Worden
William P. Worden appointed superintendent of Commonwealth Edison Dresden Nuclear Power Station near Morris succeeding Harlan Hoyt who moves to a Chicago office post. Worden an Illinois Institute of Technology graduate joined Edison in 1955 and has served as assistant superintendent since 1970. Hoyt, a Missouri School of Mines mechanical engineer, has led Dresden since 1957 and joined Edison in 1936. He lives in Joliet. Morris Public Library Board holds a regular meeting Monday at 8 p.m.

Parole Denied for Chester Weger in Starved Rock Case
LaSalle County State's Attorney Robert E. Richardson announced the Illinois Parole and Pardon Board denied parole to Chester Otto Weger. The hearing at Stateville followed objections from the LaSalle County prosecutor and relatives of the Starved Rock victims. Weger, convicted of murdering Mrs. Lillian Oetting, has been imprisoned since 1960.

U S planes struck two radar installations in North Vietnam and B52s dropped nearly 300 tons in the southern DMZ in the heaviest attack there this year. Rev. Stanley Lane of the Joliet Reception and Diagnostic Center outlined the center’s history and goals to the Inter-Agency Council. He described testing that now selects a suitable facility within 10 days to two weeks, the humane design of facilities, co-educational pilots, and camps near state parks offering education and vocational work to youths as rehabilitation aims.
