Driver killed in accident near Ashley Road
Paul Petry a 46 year old resident of 306 Susan Street was killed when his brown Ford left U S 6 near Ashley Road and rolled end over end into a ditch. The Grundy County sheriff reported the car traveled 651 feet from the roadway and 171 feet after the second private driveway. Petry died at the scene from severe head injuries and funeral arrangements are set with Davis Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife Florence Elam, four daughters and five sons, plus his mother Hattie Mickler and siblings. An inquest will be scheduled and Sgts Leach Marketti and Deputy Walker investigated.

Missing Girl Found Near Church After Overnight Search
Six year old Heidi Olson was located Sunday evening at a home near the Church of Christ on Pine Bluff Road. She had fallen asleep in a dark church nursery while her parents attended services. The Olsons returned home in Lisbon, then Morris, and, after checking several homes, found Heidi safe at the church vicinity.

Oak Park man injured when van hits bridge near Joliet Arsenal
Terrence McCormick, 24, of Oak Park was injured Sunday at 8 15 a m when his van struck a bridge on Interstate 55 about 25 miles south of Blodgett Road near the Joliet Arsenal. He was treated and released from St. Joseph Hospital Joliet. Police reported he lost control northbound on I 55 and was taken to hospital by an unknown person. No damage estimate given for his 1976 Chevrolet van.
