More than 30 towns and bases shelled in South Vietnam as 100 pound rockets hit Da Nang dock. Two landing craft sank and a third damaged. at least one American sailor killed, 51 sailors and eight Marines wounded, 300 tons of ammunition destroyed. Civilians evacuated though restrictions eased as debris and explosives remained.
