Caisley Wins Morris Mayor Race and City Posts
Republican candidate Donald A. Caisley led with 1 009 votes to 731 for H R Peacock and 242 for Walter Hundt in Morris mayoral results. Aldermanic winners include Robert J Ryder in ward 2 with 264 votes, Harold Olson in ward 4 with 229, James M Davis unopposed in ward 1 with 310, and John Nelson unopposed in ward 3 with 720. Arthur Stinchcomb named city clerk and Robert W White unopposed for treasurer. Several write in and Democratic candidates received a few votes. Caisley has served 14 years as alderman and chaired the finance committee for 12 years. Peacock sought a third term as mayor, previously a ward 1 alderman for 12 years. Hundt will complete his first four years on the council May 1.
