Dresden Road Hearings On Vacating And Building Roads
Two hearings are set for Tuesday morning on a Commonwealth Edison project near the Dresden Nuclear station east of Morris. A new road about 0.8 mile long would jog west from Dresden Pequot Road and run parallel to the cooling lake canals, connecting with Collins Road to relieve traffic across canals. Edison seeks 525 feet of Collins Road vacated where canals cross near the station. A hearing to vacate Collins Road is at 10 a.m. and a hearing for the new road at 11 a.m. on Collins Road near Dresden Road.

Planners To Discuss Sludge Plan In Grundy County
The Grundy County Planning Commission will discuss SEMCOs plan to remove 460000 tons of digestant sludge from the Metropolitan Sanitary District and spread it on 2200 acres in Norman Township near Seneca with a 40 car Rock Island train delivering the material for 24 hours. James Wright and Dr. William Bauer promoted the project earlier this year. The Gardner village board urged county officials to oppose sludge in the area and asked for opinions from supervisors and state officials.
