Two warrants issued for 36 year old Marseilles man Charles C. Hooper in connection with the February 5 kidnapping and attempted rape of a 22 year old Elgin teacher visiting Morris. The woman identified Hooper from photos and Hooper's extradition is being arranged from Mississippi where he is jailed. The incident began when a man crawled into the teacher's car and tried to force her to drive off. A passing motorist helped her escape and the car was found abandoned near Stockdale Road. Hooper had prior disorderly conduct conviction in 1965.
