Moving inmates from Dwight to Vienna Correctional Center
Betty Piche, 31, imprisoned for five counts of murder and armed robbery, will be moved from Dwight Correctional Center for Women to Vienna Correctional Center as part of a March transfer of 60 inmates. Piche entered Dwight on June 18 for a 20 to 60 year murder sentence and 10 to 30 years for armed robbery. convicted by Winnebago County jury on June 15. Carl A. Reimann, 33, named as the trigger man in the case.

Ten hurt as Edison Joliet plant fire prompts brief shutdown
Ten people were hospitalized for smoke inhalation after a fire at Commonwealth Edison Joliet Station on U S 6 and Larkin Ave. The 10 were released from St. Joseph Hospital Joliet later Thursday. The blaze began at 2 50 p m and was controlled about 30 minutes later with Rockdale Fire Department help. The unit 7 boiler area was damaged and the cause remains unknown, possibly an electrical short.

City seeks $67,000 grant for ball park project

Two Women Hurt When Car Leaves US 6 near Seneca
Mrs. Evelyn Juergensen of Hassock Street Seneca and Mrs. Michele Libertore of Seneca Estates were injured in a one car crash on US 6 near the Fessler Curve about 1.5 miles west of Seneca. Both were taken to Morris hospital with Libertore treated and released.
