Lois Gilbert born January 7 1867 near Lisbon died Sunday at her Mazon home. Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral chapel with Rev Richard Blair. burial in Mazon Cemetery. Survived by three daughters Hosea Johnson Olive Gallagher and Pearl Thontlin a brother Alto Leach six grandchildren sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Several Morris area offices will close Tuesday for George Washington's Birthday, a legal holiday. The county courthouse and post office will be closed. the post office will not deliver except specials, while lobby access remains for boxholders. Some banks open, others closed, and public offices such as Farm Bureau and extension remain open. The Morris Public Library will maintain regular hours. Illinois Veteran's Commission at 120 West Main will close all day. Subscribers will receive the regular Morris Daily Herald edition.

Girl Survives Drive Through Building Collision
Miss Julie A Franklin 16 of Mazon escaped serious injury when the 1965 Buick Wildcat she was driving stuck the gas and plowed through a wood framed cinder building near the Grundy County Rest Home west of Illinois 113 and 47. She suffered facial and knee lacerations and a knee bruise and was treated at Morris Hospital in fair condition.
