Bomb threat prompts evacuation at Minooka High School
Sheriff Richard Pierce reports a bomb threat received by the home of Principal Alton L. Mattingly at 7 30 a m. About 380 students were moved to the adjacent grade school while investigators searched. No bomb was found and classes resumed by 11 30 a.m. No prior scares noted.

Jehovah's Witness Assembly in Morris Seeks 1200 Attendees
Arrangements are complete for a three day Jehovah's Witnesses conference at Morris Community High School from March 27 to 29. The Morris congregation will host 16 congregations from Central Illinois with about 1200 attendees. Wayne Knott and C. W. Barber will speak, and ordination by water baptism follows Barber's address on dedication and baptism. All sessions are free and open to the public.

Two Separate Traffic Accidents Injure Men
A Morrisman was hospitalized after a one car crash on Interstate 55 at the Material Service overpass in Will County. Floyd T. Jones 56 of Route 1 was ticketed for speeding for his collision with the bridge abutment. his 1970 Ford sustained 500 in damages and was towed. Another Joliet man injured in a separate crash near Illinois 47 on U S 6 was in fair condition at Morris Hospital. Haskel W. Little 41 was cited for drunken driving after his 1969 Oldsmobile hit a pole and caused 800 in damage.

GM Recalls Buses and Trucks for Brake Hose Kept
General Motors GMC Truck and Coach Division recalls 4,269 school buses and 21,681 GMC chassis trucks from 1968 and 1969 model years for inspection of brake hose retaining springs and rear steel brake lines to prevent possible brake fluid loss. Chanticleer Apartments Proposed for Morris Planning Commission
Plans presented Wednesday night for a Chanticleer Apartments development with 116 units on the west side of N Division Street north of the Clark Oil Station. The project envisions 18 buildings on 372,785 square feet with 96,636 square feet of floor space, and a rezoning request from R-1 to R-NT. The commission formed a traffic study committee and will work with city officials and the land holder First National Bank of Joliet. Plans were prepared by Engineering and Design Co of Indianapolis.
