About 250 people attended the Grundy County Lincoln Day Dinner at the Moose Lodge in Morris. Ralph T. Smith could not fly from Springfield due to weather hazards. State Rep. Bud Washburn arrived after driving. State Rep. Thomas Houde was introduced as a guest. The Treblesomes quartet sang, with prayers by local clergy and a flag pledge by Bill Washburn.

The Grundy County Board of Supervisors agreed to study a county law enforcement planning program funded with federal matching aid. A three county district including LaSalle Kankakee and Grundy would apply for the grant. The plan costs about 50 cents per capita with Grundy paying roughly 1200 dollars. Farm Show Host Samuelson To Speak At Mazon Thursday
Orion Samuelson of Channel 9 will speak at a 6 30 p m Thursday dinner meeting of Grundy County Soil and Water Conservation District at Mazon Township High School.
