Fire Destroys Vacant Rural House in Goose Lake Township
A recently vacated house on a farm owned by Atty Dale G Nicholson Joliet burned to the ground Monday afternoon in Goose Lake township. The Morris fire department arrived after an alarm from a Bechtel Corp switchboard operator but the fire was out of control with the roof fallen in. Fire Chief Myron Bartlett offered no origin theory and noted the building had been nearly empty during a Friday visit. Mr and Mrs Howard Sutton planned to occupy the house soon.

Dulles Appeals To France And Tunisia
Secretary of State Dulles urged France and Tunisia to settle their differences and restore friendly ties at a news conference.
