Major school reorganization plans for Morris District No 54 unveiled
Supt. H Dale Barr outlined a plan to close Lincoln and McKinley Schools and repurpose Center Garfield Franklin Shabbona Stine to house grades K five and six eight with special ed, cutting about 19 220 annually from the district budget and shifting special education responsibilities countywide. The plan anticipates space for 130 to 150 more students, cost savings from fewer buildings, and a shift to a south of river facility to support growth and efficiency.
