Icy Illinois 129 intersection prompts police warnings

Grundy County sheriff reports hazardous icy road conditions on Illinois 129 at Carbon Hill Rd Monday. Board approves Highland Acres subdivision and planning changes

The Grundy County Board approved the final plat for Highland Acres on Gore Road west of Lisbon Road, with six lots zoned B II commercial. Owners of C and C Roofing plan to relocate on four acres. the rest of the parcels remain undeveloped.

Channahon trustees race filings extend to March 1

Frank M. Lopez and nine others filed for village trustee with a April 19 election set. On January 10 several candidates announced runs for three four year terms and one two year term to replace Dennis Pond. Johnson was appointed to finish Pond’s term until the next election. The village extended 1977 vehicle sticker deadline from February 15 to March 1, aligning with state license plate rules.
