Nixon Meets Mayors in Midwest Urban Affairs Session

President Nixon brings the Urban Affairs Council to Indianapolis for an afternoon meeting with nine mayors, mainly Republicans, then plans to Chicago to discuss environmental issues with governors. Deadline February 16 Set for Voter Registration

Chicago bureau calls Friday mostly cloudy with mid to upper 30s and no precipitation. Collins station logs a Wednesday high of 31 and low 15, with 27 at 9 30 a m and 34 at 11 45 a m in downtown Morris.

Morris Seeks Federal Grant for Secondary Sewage Plant

Morris to receive 258 924 in federal funds for a secondary sewage disposal plant, about 30 percent of an 860 000 estimated cost. Officials note costs rising, plans to bid once financing finalize, with a 275 000 bond issue and revenue bonds possible. Gov Ogilvie announced 42 287 100 in federal sewage treatment grants for Illinois.

Morris man injured in Oglesby traffic crash

Lawrence A. White a 39 year old wire chief for Illinois Bell was injured in an automobile collision in Oglesby Tuesday evening. He was to undergo surgery for a dislocated hip and a broken rib at St Marys Hospital in La Salle. Kaszyski 57 of Peru was southbound and left turning and was treated at Peoples Hospital in Peru for lacerations.
