13 Counselors Set for Career College Day
Seventy three counselors from colleges universities business schools and trades will attend Morris Community High School eighth annual Career and College Day on Wednesday. About 680 students from Morris and surrounding high schools will take part with Miss Ethel M Watts directing. Local and regional representatives from Illinois Indiana Iowa Minnesota Wisconsin and Kentucky will offer counseling during the day.

Dresden Development plans 9000 acre industrial site near Morris
Four Chicago real estate firms hired by the Dresden Development Corp announce plans to develop more than 9 000 acres along the Illinois river six miles east of Morris near the Dresden Nuclear Power plant. Clifford A Zoll says the land will be offered in 500 to 600 acre lots to attract oil steel and chemical plants with railroads gas pipelines and a 132 999 volt line ready. At least five or six large industries show interest and the site has water access and multiple utilities.

In Ottawa Illinois jury selection continues for Chester Rocky Weger 21 charged with killing three women at Starved Rock State Park. Four more jurors were added bringing total to eight as 113 of 138 questioned were dismissed mostly over death penalty views. Prosecution seeks the death penalty. Weger denies his November confession.

Slippery Morris Street conditions Friday led to three traffic accidents with five cars damaged. At 4 30 p m John F Champeau collided with Irvin L Halsted who was stopped for a train on Rock Island crossing. At 5 40 p m Mary Johnson reported another vehicle struck her northbound on Liberty Street. At 8 30 p m Ruth Davis collided with a vehicle at 1258 Liberty Street, damaging a car parked at the curb. Unknown driver caused the northbound crash.
