Truman Walks to House Unassisted After Hospital Stay
Former President Harry S. Truman walked unassisted from his rear driveway to his home in Independence Missouri after a 13 day stay at Research Hospital in Kansas City. He was hospitalized January 21 for diverticulitis and his physician said he was in very good health. Bess Truman accompanied him home with Secret Service agents nearby.
