Thawing Forecast Ahead for Illinois Saturday

Sunshine and milder weather spread across Illinois as the Associated Press reports more thawing predicted for Saturday. Northeastern and northern counties eyed rising temperatures while highways remained mostly good with scattered patches of packed snow north of Rock Island and Kankakee.

Train Derailed Near Hudson Illinois No Injuries Reported

Thirty five cars of an Illinois Central freight train derailed Thursday night near Hudson seven miles north of Bloomington. The train was northbound between Clinton and LaSalle. There were no injuries.

Surviving Quintuplets Reported In Satisfactory Condition

Four surviving infants of quintuplets born to Mrs. Lionel Harris were reported in satisfactory condition. City crews clear streets after snow push and tow cars

City crews returned to Washington Jefferson and Main Streets with a grader to remove packed snow and ice from the surface and push snow back onto the curb. Several cars were towed to clear paths for the machines and curb access.
