Illinois awards first 1960 road contracts on Interstate 80
The Illinois Division of Highways announced initial awards for Gov Stratton’s 1960 road program. Edwards Construction Co. received 47347 for lighting on Rte 47 intersections. Powers-Thompson won two Joliet area bridges and DuPage river spans on I 80. Superior Concrete won a Joliet grade separation on I 80 over Rte 66. Wendnagel and Co. to supply structural steel for I 80 over Rte 66. Industrial Concrete Co. won a 112582 contract for a four span grade separation on Township Rte 56 over I 80 northwest of Minooka.
