City Council approved a revised pickup plan with New Year’s Day excluded. Regular Friday collections move to Thursday and drivers will start early. Residents should place containers out on Thursday or earlier Wednesday night to receive service Friday collections.
Weather outlook for Illinois shows warmer temps and sun
Forecasters report a sunny to partly cloudy day across Illinois with afternoon highs from the low 20s in the extreme northwest to the mid 40s in the extreme south. Tonight stays fair with little change, low 10 to 15. Wednesday brings more sun and a high near 30. Monday peaked at 27 with a 5 degree low at Dresden Island. At 7 am today readings were 10 degrees and downtown Morris at 11 30 am was 26 degrees.

Wife Seeks 410000 For Husbands Death
The widow of Kenneth Cahill, killed December 26 1968 on Interstate 80 near Morris, seeks 410000 in damages from the other driver Lily Jones and owner Henry Jones. The suit claims loss of support and earning capacity for Mrs Cahill and two children. The case also lists damages sought by Lewis Lenson and Max H. Lenson against the Joneses for vehicle damage.
