Morris City Council approves marina lease and mobile home
The Morris City Council unanimously approved leasing Stratton Park marina on the Illinois River to Robert Schwartz and Robert Gelinas for up to 20 years with $950 yearly and 2 percent of gross over 100000. They may place a 24 by 60 foot mobile home on slab and operate through Bols’ remaining 10 years, with a renewal option.

First Morris Hospital in Collins Building
The Morris Hospital began with D A Mathews prompting a local medical staff including Dr A E Palmer and Dr Frank Palmer. It opened in 1906 on the Collins building third floor with eight to ten beds, then moved to High St in 1910 as a 34 bed facility. Over the decades funds, expansions, and loans funded growth to 75 beds by the mid 1960s, with major federal and local contributions and a large loan from Morris Savings and Loan.
