Bears face bleacher dilemma at Soldier Field next season

Chicago Bears general manager Jim Finks says seats must be added if unsafe bleachers are demolished, ruling out alternate sites. With north end zone stands about 10,000 seats to be torn down, Soldier Field would drop to 44,000 seats, below NFL minimum, while a temporary renovation remains uncertain. The Bears may study renovating Soldier Field or building a new stadium as a committee plans a recommendation by early January.
