Crash hospitalizes man after one car crash in Braceville area
A 22 year old Lockport man James H Cantrill was hospitalized for observation after a one car crash on Carbon Hill Road near Illinois 129. His right rear tire blew on a left turn causing the car to leave the road and strike a field. Vehicle towed to Wise Ford Garage. The Braceville Fire Department responded to a furnace explosion at Jeanette Brasher’s home on Merill Street with little damage reported.

Vehicle Forced Off Road After Wet Pavement Incident
An 18 year old Morris motorist Curtis Snyder was eastbound on Rod and Gun Club road when his car veered off due to wet pavement and possible collision with an unknown vehicle. His 1964 Chevrolet sustained heavy front end damage and the guard rail was lightly damaged. Walt's Arco towed the car from the scene. Bill Rasmussen reported his left front wheel detached on Illinois 47 north of Mazon causing damage to the right fender and chrome strip.

Two Morris men escape injury in two car crash on I 80
On Interstate 80 one mile west of Illinois 47 two cars collided when Joseph R. Stevens 28 pulled into the passing lane and was struck by Robert J. Koslauskas 24. Stevens and his passenger Vincent E. Stoner 58 escaped injuries and Stevens was cited for improper lane usage. Vehicle damage was minor. A second incident near U S 66 involved Ronald V. Erickson 25 of Fremont Calif with his VW rolling to a median after leaving the road. No injuries reported.
